Mindfulness and meditation have really grabbed my attention over the last 6 months. So much so that I have decided to spend a fair bit more time and attention on deepening my understanding of these topics. Recently I read and reviewed Altered Traits which discusses the science behind the positive benefits meditation can provide (here: http://www.drchrisharper.co.uk/blog/book-review-altered-traits ). I have followed that up with another book that has been highly recommended to me giving more detailed instructions on various meditation techniques available. "Mindfulness: The 8 week meditation programme" isn't a very long book, the audiobook is only 2.5 hours long and half of that is composed of actual guided meditation. It is however, in my opinion, very useful, giving very clear, concise and implementable advice about incorporating some form of meditation into your routine. It covers various forms of meditation for example mindfulness of your breath, body scans, loving-kindness meditation and some different guided meditations that incorporate more than one of these into a single 10-20 minute session. I like the way this information has been presented and I can definitely understand why many others have also recommended it. If you are new to meditation and want a simple introduction this could work very well indeed. This book can be bought as either a physical copy or an audiobook here: https://amzn.to/2qUuTcw
