On Monday I got an email from Audible informing me that a followup book to Start With Why had been released. As that book is one of my favourites of this year I had to see what this new one was. Discovering my Why has honestly been one of the most inspirational and motivational things I have done this year. Start With Why by Simon Sinek explains the importance of individuals and organisations understanding the driving force behind their actions. But some people criticised that they didn't necessarily know how to work out their Why. The new book "Find Your Why" is designed to overcome this difficulty. It summarises the key points from the first book but then lays out in easy to follow steps how to work all this out. It builds on years of experience of Simon and his team who have been doing just this on a large scale and also takes the concepts discussed in Start With Why even further. Whether you liked the first book or not there is a good chance you will get more from this one. My "Why" is this: To help and inspire others to become better versions of themselves. This is the driving force behind why I share all my ideas via my blog, why I am so excited about starting in my new role as a clinical supervisor TODAY 😳 and it explains why I get so enthused when patients decide that they want to improve their dentition. Having read Find Your Why I am now going to take this idea further and try to distil my "Hows" into clear statements as well. More about that in the coming weeks.
