This year I am planning on reading more scientific papers. I have always found scientific experiments and research really interesting and used to read a lot of papers but for some reason this has slipped by the wayside in recent years. So to help keep me motivated I am planning on sharing summaries of the most interesting papers I come across this year. I am doing this as I think others may find some of these papers interesting too and I am hoping some of these reviews will spark debates on a range of topics. The first of those is a paper I found while researching for my article on sugar being published in the next edition of Aesthetic Dentistry Today. It was a study tracking nearly half a million Americans over a 7 year period linking a high sugar diet with an increased risk of a number of cancers. This is something that is only just starting to be understood and I wouldn’t be surprised if these risks turn out to be even higher when we can capture data for an even larger population group and for time periods in the decades rather than just a handful of years.
Here is the link to the full article: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3494407/ If you find interesting research on any topic that you think I, or others, would like to know about please let me know or why not create a similar summery and share it too?
