In our "always connected" modern world some people seem to delight in pointing out how good they are at multitasking. It is is even something that people put on CVs or mention in job interviews as positive points. If you are one of those people then you may not like what I am about to write, but please get past the initial frustration. Hopefully I can help you see the light.

Our brains make assumptions about our experiences based on what information we are expecting to see. That can lead us to make false assumptions about the world around us.
For instance, did you spot the deliberate typing error in the quote above? Many people will not spot the extra "the" because our brain wasn't expecting to see it there and the sentence makes more sense without it. |
